Daylight sighting by hunter outside Salamanca (Show Printer-friendly Version) YEAR: 2001 SEASON: Fall MONTH: October DATE: 13 STATE: New York COUNTY: Cattaraugus County LOCATION DETAILS: about 5 miles north of the allegany state park.the sighting was on the allegany reservation. NEAREST TOWN: salamanca NEAREST ROAD: interstate 86 OBSERVED: i live in salamanca n.y.i was hunting down old 17 road and seen a tall dark hairy creature walking on two legs cross the railroad tracks.the area around him had smelt very bad.(skunk smell).before i had seen bigfoot i heard a loud crashing noise.and that was my encounter with bigfoot. ALSO NOTICED: other people before had recently seen a tall dark hairy like creature.and they also heard strange noises in the woods.very loud noises. OTHER WITNESSES: there was 3 of us.we were all hunting for small game.we were standing together talking when the incident occured. OTHER STORIES: i heard other stories about sightings a few years back.mainly during the fall and spring season.sometimes during winter and summer they were sighted TIME AND CONDITIONS: it was right before the sun was setting.and it was very cold about 30 to 40 degrees. ENVIRONMENT: the area was is kind of isolated.lots of hills.and the allegany river is nearby.
