(Show Printer-friendly Version)
YEAR: 2024
SEASON: Spring MONTH: March DATE: 25 STATE: Washington COUNTY: Kittitas County LOCATION DETAILS: [Investigator (MM) Notes: This incident occurred near the summit of Hex Mountain. GPS for the summit of Hex Mountain: 47.321007, -121.064938 ] NEAREST TOWN: Roslyn - Hex Mountain NEAREST ROAD: Top of Hex Mountain OBSERVED: On 3/25/24, I climbed hex mountain near Roslyn and heard very distinct knocking. I’m a non-believer, but what I heard up there that day was unnerving and one of the rare times that I grabbed my gun. I heard the knocks near the top, in 3-4 bursts of knocks, that occurred over 10 minutes. There were probably 5-10 knocks each time. I was up there around 11am. Cloudy. Cool day. No precipitation. I was spooked enough that I touched the top and headed right back down. The knocks came from the east side of the mountain. There were no other cars there that day. I saw no other people. Saw no other animals. Saw no other fresh footprints in the snow.
The reason I learned that they were possibly Bigfoot knocks, was because I lost my power in Sammamish. Went to the coast for hot showers. Saw the Bigfoot conference at ocean shores. Won $371 on a slot machine, and decided to buy a ticket for something to do. I walked the vendor booths and saw the clubs and asked what they were. He demonstrated. What I heard was very similar. I’ve never heard it before, and never again. I'm still not a believer, but I won’t go back up there, alone. ALSO NOTICED: Nothing additional. OTHER WITNESSES: No other witnesses. I’m a non believer, but it spooked me. There were no other people up there the entire time I was there. OTHER STORIES: None. First time at this trail. Haven’t been back. Non believer. TIME AND CONDITIONS: 11am. No people. No animals. No other sounds. Just knocking over about 10 minutes time. Very distinct. I grabbed my gun, which I rarely do. ENVIRONMENT: Maybe 500 feet of elevation from the top of Hex Mountain. Sparse trees, some burned trees. I didn’t go over to where the knocking was originating from.
