Report # 67585  (Class B)
Submitted by witness on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Possible sighting of a gray Bigfoot in Riverside State Park at 5 am, near Spokane

YEAR: 2020

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: December

STATE: Washington

COUNTY: Spokane County

LOCATION DETAILS: Take highway 291 northwest from town. Left at seven mile road (orv park turnoff) about 1/2 mile from the river after crossing the bridge.

NEAREST TOWN: Spokane

NEAREST ROAD: Seven Mile Road

OBSERVED: I’m not sure what/if I saw. In December of 2020 I was driving my kid to work at 5am. I was on a back road near the Spokane River at Seven Mile, which is part of the Riverside Park area. As I came up a small hill with a turn, on the left side of the road, just off the road, I saw what appeared to be the silhouette of a sasquatch. I frequently drive this road and had not had a sighting before or since. What I saw was slightly taller than a speed limit/road sign. I looked away to check the road, and when I glanced back over there was nothing to see. I have tried to explain this as being tired, but I am awake at about 4am every day, so I’ve ruled that out. I checked this page and saw the report from the gal near the old golf course, which I live on the other end of that course. This sighting was not far from where she was when she heard her strange howl. What makes me say “if” I saw is that what I saw was gray, but I did not see any defining features other than that it was a straight on back view.

ALSO NOTICED: None

OTHER WITNESSES: None

OTHER STORIES: Just the sounds from a gal across the old golf course from me.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: About 5am, dark out. No oncoming traffic. Nothing reflective in the direct area.

ENVIRONMENT: Forest to both sides of the road.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Kevin Llewellyn:

I talked to the witness by phone.

It was near Christmas and his son was getting extra hours at work. The witness cannot remember the exact day, but he was driving his son to work as he frequently does. His son did not see the figure. There were no other cars around.

As he started into the curve, his headlights shined on an upright figure for a couple seconds. It was across the other lane, about thirty yards away and was about five to ten feet before the trees.

Even in the bright headlights, it was a dull gray. He saw a broad back view. It was a little over seven feet tall with shoulders three and one half to four feet wide. It had a dome shaped head that went straight to shoulders, so a neck was not seen. No ears were seen. He could make out legs, arms and hands. The arms were past the middle thigh. He described hands at its side and the fingers seemed to be curled; half way between an open hand and a fist.

It was as if the figure just froze in place. The witness did not see arms swing or it step. If he did, this would be a Class A report.

There was not snow on the ground to show a trackway.

There are housing developments in this area but Riverside State Park is about 16 square miles and is the second largest state park in Washington according to Wikipedia. I have lived in Spokane County most of my life and I hear reports that could be Bigfoot activity in this area often. The report the witness refers to is BFRO report 66003, September 2, 2020.

The witness is credible. We have not met in person but have been in contact in the past about the topic of Bigfoot.
