Bob Gimlin was Roger Patterson's riding partner when Roger
filmed the sasquatch in Bluff Creek on October 20, 1967. This
film is known as the "Patterson
footage" today.
Roger Patterson died in the 1970's and Bob Gimlin hasn't given
interviews in years, until he attended the Willow Creek Symposium
in September of 2003.
On the last day of the Symposium he returned to Bluff Creek
and helped the attendees figure out where the actual film site
was, and clarified plenty of details about the circumstances
of the footage.
During that last day of the Symposium he was interviewed for
the TV series Mysterious Encounters. He spoke about the incident
and described in detail what happened. It's very interesting
to hear him talk about the confrontation. Bob's honesty and
character shines through as brightly and sincerely as we remember
him from that day.
Bio Mechanics expert, Professor Jurgen Konczak, from the University
of Minnesota, points out some unhumanlike peculiarities in the
anatomy and movement of the figure.
Rueben Steindorf shows 3D model of figure's head and face with
the fur removed.
This episode of Mysterious Encounters airs on the cable channel
called the "Outdoor Life Network" ("OLN"
channel) on Wednesday evening. Check your local listings.
For many of you OLN is a "premium" cable channel,
which means you might not receive it unless you get more than
just the basic cable channels. For others it is part of your
basic cable line up. In any case, check through the list of
channels names anywhere between channel 50 and channel 350.
For example, in parts of North Carolina OLN is on cable channel
54. Whereas, in parts of Southern California it is on channel
323.
