YEAR: 2024

This location is 26 miles southwest of downtown Macon, and 2.6 miles due west of the huge Blue Bird plant (school bus manufacturer) in Fort Valley, GA.
NEAREST TOWN: Ft Valley, GA NEAREST ROAD: 96 E OBSERVED: On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at about 8:30 am (temp about 68 - 70 degrees) I went to a nearby parts store. They were not open yet. I had to be back home by 9:30 am to watch the grandkids so my wife could go to church. I decided I had time to drive to Ft. Valley, GA to their O’Reilly part store and get back to the Butler area before she had to leave.
I traveled on the newer 4 lane Highway 96E until I got almost to Ft. Valley. I turned right onto the old 2 lane Highway 96 that goes toward town. There was no other traffic on the road at this time.
As I topped the hill and started going down it in my full size Chevrolet Duramax Diesel truck, I saw a thing that was dark colored and upright. It was in full stride and running very fast. This was not a jog. It was extremely fast. The arms were not at an angle but moved outstretched as it ran.
It came from the wood line of right side of the road and ran across the road and into the woods on the other side [North side]. It was very fast and smooth as it ran. It cleared the two lane highway in a few long steps. This creature was something I have never seen before. I am 200 lbs and 6 ft tall. It was a good bit larger than I am.
There is no way a human could have the speed this thing had. When I got to where it was I slowed to almost a stop, but it was out of sight. I immediately called my wife to tell her what I saw. My phone showed it was 8:59am when I called her.
After speaking with her I continued onto the OReilly Part store in Fort Valley. After that I drove back by there 4 times looking for it but I saw nothing.
ALSO NOTICED: No OTHER WITNESSES: No other traffic or witnesses on the road at that time. OTHER STORIES: No TIME AND CONDITIONS: Around 9 am and about 70 degrees. Clear morning. ENVIRONMENT: Crossed 2 lane highway
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:
I spoke with the witness C. B. He is a very credible 51 year old man in Butler GA. His family has lived in this area for generations. He clears land for a living. He is in the outdoors, in and around the woods, most days. He is a grandfather and very familiar with the wildlife in Georgia.
He saw a very tall dark sasquatch running very across Old Highway 96 a few miles west of Fort Valley. The sasquatch emerged from trees on the south side of the highway and crossed over the road and disappeared into the thick trees on the other side of the highway. It went from tree line to tree line in a matter of seconds.
He was no more than 70 yards away when he saw it. This was at 8:59am in clear sunny weather.
There are likely still track impressions in the grass at the crossing point. The tracks may be difficult to spot from a car because an 8 foot tall sasquatch running at full speed may easily have a 10 foot stride. The tracks would be spaced far apart and thus difficult to notice unless you look around closely. The grass may have rebounded a bit already as well.
Aerial images show the likely path it emerged from leads directly back to the same railroad bed which snakes around to the west and comes within a quarter of a mile of a 2015 Class B report.
For Crawford County Georgia in the BFRO database there is a 2015 Class B encounter (report 58900) which occurred 4.5 miles to the west of this location, near the Flint River, only a quarter of a mile from the railroad bed. That is the connection.
In September of 2015 Donnie Harris with the Dept of Corrections was supervising a prisoner work crew on a job for the GA Dept of Transportation (DOT) to clear trees growing up to the under side of the bridge for Hwy 96 above a swampy section of creek exactly one mile east of the Hwy 96 bridge over the Flint River. The prisoners were cutting down trees from under that bridge when something large started growling and grunting at them, from 50-60 feet back in the thick brush and trees.
Donnie and some of the work crew thought they could see a large dark figure peeking out at them from behind a tree deep back in the brush.
Later that same day large footprints were found in mud next to a shallow stream back among the same trees.
When the crew resumed cutting down trees again under the bridge they started hearing loud knocks and branch snaps. It was enough to make all of them want to leave.
When they returned to their foreman, he told them something similar had happened to him at the same location. See link above for report 58900 in Crawford County.
