Hikers see creature in Desolation Wilderness

LOCATION DETAILS: You take a hike from wrights lake to desolation wilderness and from their at lake schmidel

NEAREST TOWN: I cant remember

NEAREST ROAD: I think it was 37

OBSERVED: Well me and my friend were hiking through the sierra nevadas until we heard a walking through the brush. I wasnt sure what it was but when i looked to my left i saw this big hairy creature it smelled as a garbage can. It had yellow eyes and was walking away. I tried to get a picture but it was moving in and out of trees. Later on in the night we heard a moving noise outside. my friend said it was a deer but i think it was the creature.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was about 1:00pm and it was raining, snow was on the ground.

ENVIRONMENT: it was like a valley flatland and he was near a glacier.


Follow-up investigation report:

Talked with witness and these additional details were added:
--Nearest town was Lake Tahoe and nearest road was Highway 50;
--Height of the creature was about 5'9" and weight est. at 210 pounds;
--there was no hair on the creature's face; the facial skin was burgundy-yellow in color;
--it appeared that it had a cut under its eye.
