Property owners hear vocalizations similar to Orangutan, near Easton
(Show Printer-friendly Version)
YEAR: 2020
SEASON: Fall MONTH: September DATE: 22 STATE: Washington COUNTY: Kittitas County LOCATION DETAILS: Witnesses would like location kept confidential. NEAREST TOWN: Easton, Wa NEAREST ROAD: I-90 OBSERVED: 5 years ago we moved onto a 7 acre parcel that was all forested and nontraversable. Over the 5 years we have been cleaning up the forest and removing low branches and dead trees. April 2020 we removed 14 large trees behind the house - I believe this is what precipitated our encounter as we had none prior - and I thought bigfoot was a joke - I am now a believer. In September 2020 my husband rented a large excavator to clean up the are where the trees had been and to use the machine to move the giant logs into our metal shed (which is huge, bigger than our house). He was on the excavator inside of the shed and heard an animal noise that was making the building echo and reverberate. At first he thought it was the machine. He turned off the machine and realized it was an animal, not the equipment. He estimates what we heard was 100-150 yards away. He then came and got me, I was upstairs in the house and did not hear it inside the house. He had me go outside with him in the backyard (the garage he was in originally was in the front of the house). What I heard blew me away. It sounded like I was in a jungle in Africa or at the zoo. There is no doubt it was a primate sound. We have heard and seen elk, coyotes, bear, wild turkeys, etc. NOTHING sounded like this. It was making a wooping sound. My husband thought he heard 2 calling back and forth, when I went outside I only heard one. I imitated the sounds and it seemed to respond a couple of times but then completely stopped. I am now a believer that there is some kind of primate that does exist and have been researching off and on now ever since. OTHER WITNESSES: me and my husband. OTHER STORIES: No, we even asked our neighbor who has lived here since the 70's, when he was the only person here and this place was completely wild. He has seen a grizzly - so those that say grizzlies are not in WA state are mistaken. This guys is in his 80's lives off grid, built his homes by hand and has hunted everything. Killed 3 bears trying to get in his house, cougars too. He's crazy - but he said he'd never heard or seen a bigfoot and I think he thought it was funny I asked. :) TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was towards evening, maybe between 4:00-6:00 pm. Weather was sunny. ENVIRONMENT: woods, pine trees, etc, very woodsy and wild
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Kevin Llewellyn:
I talked to the witnesses by phone.
They would like directions to their property kept confidential.
The husband had a foam ear plug in one ear and a head phone in the other, yet heard a vocalization and felt it in his chest. He heard a second answer far away. He got the impression it was an adult closer to him and a young one farther away.
The wife came outside. She heard three whoops in a row, then another set of three, a pause, then another set. She imitated and the set of whoops repeated two times but then stopped.
The witnesses have been to Borneo in the past and heard Orangutan. She said the vocalizations sounded like that.
No foul odor was detected.
