(Show Printer-friendly Version)
YEAR: 2016
SEASON: Fall MONTH: October DATE: 1st STATE: Washington COUNTY: Grays Harbor County NEAREST TOWN: Ocean City NEAREST ROAD: 109 OBSERVED: We were on our way back from Ocean Park or Ocean city. It was a beautiful morning. As I looked out into this field I watched a creature the size of a bear with a flat face the color of a dead trees stump rise. (Washed out gray) OTHER WITNESSES: My other half was busy driving. TIME AND CONDITIONS: Morning on a beautiful day. ENVIRONMENT: It was located in a clear cut field. Off the highway.
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Jeff Sidebottom:
I called the witness and let her describe her encounter. She said it was around October or November of 2016. Her boyfriend was driving. They were on their way home from Ocean City, WA. She was looking into a clear cut area and suddenly a large creature stood up erect from a "squatting" position. It was over 6 feet tall at best guess. It was the same grayish black hue as the stumps and tree piles around it. She said it had a very flat face. No snout at all so she is positive it was not a bear. Her boyfriend didn't see it as he was driving. They didn't stop. She could not have gone into the clear cut to investigate as she is disabled.
Summary: With the number of sightings from the Grays Harbor county area, I'm inclined to believe she saw a creature that was not a bear.
