Late night road crossing at Heffley Lake outside Kamloops
(Show Printer-friendly Version)

YEAR: 2018

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: February

DATE: 12

PROVINCE: British Columbia

COUNTRY: Canada

LOCATION DETAILS: 50°50'14.83" N 120°03'20.36"W

NEAREST TOWN: Kamloops

NEAREST ROAD: Todd Mountain Road

OBSERVED: 12:22am on February 12, 2018, I was driving home from working late. I live in a rural area that is about 45 mins from town. Cruising about 90km/hr on a two lane road, I had to almost come to a complete stop to avoid what looked like a 7 foot tall man covered in medium brown hair. He did not turn to look at me, just focused on crossing the road. He was fast, and managed to cross two lanes in about 5-6 steps. As I slowed down I tried to make out any details about what I was watching, but he was gone into the trees before I could determine anymore than what I've just described. Temperature was -18°C, and the location is just before the Heffley Lake rd turnoff in Heffley Creek, British Columbia, Canada. I'm a hunter and hiker who's lived here for 3 1/2 now and have never seen an animal like this before.

ALSO NOTICED: N/A

OTHER WITNESSES: No witnesses. I was driving home alone.

OTHER STORIES: Some sightings near Sun Peaks, BC in the '90s from local skiers and residents. About 20 min drive from where this occurred.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: 12:22am
-18°C
Clear roads. Snow on the ground, but not snowing.
Elevation at location of incident is 983m.

ENVIRONMENT: Treed area on both sides of main road. Large lake near by as well.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator MDJohnson:

This witness was driving home just after midnight and was required to suddenly brake for a 7ft tall bipedal and hair covered figure as it crossed the road in front of his vehicle. Of note to the witness was speed and manner in which the figure moved across the road and into the darkness on the other side taking only 4 or 5 steps.
