Deer hunter reports possible ongoing activity on his family's property near Bark River

SEASON: Fall MONTH: November DATE: 15 STATE: Michigan COUNTY: Delta County LOCATION DETAILS: West branch of the West Bark River NEAREST TOWN: Bark River NEAREST ROAD: H.5 road OBSERVED: 5:45 am November 15th, opening day of Firearm deer season, I heard back and forth calling that lasted until daybreak was lower pitch than a coyote or wolf sounds were pretty close I'd say less than a half mile. ALSO NOTICED: Deer were really spooky with tails tucked in the early morning light and there seemed to be no birds or chipmunks it was very quiet only heard 4 gun shots all day and that is strange given the amount of hunters in the area OTHER WITNESSES: There are several other hunters that hunt within 200 acres of me I'd have to think they heard it OTHER STORIES: No but I've heard wood knocks and have gotten that hair raising feeling on the back of my neck on the same property. I heard the calls and don't like going out there at night. I'm 32 spend lots of time in the woods heard knocks several times. Even heard that strange gibberish that sounded like someone upset in the woods for any doubters out there go spend some time out in the remote woods and just observe.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: Early morning ENVIRONMENT: River swampland with rises, cedar, pine, maple, and aspen trees.

This witness has worked in the woods and is an avid off-roader that spends many hours each year in the woods in some very remote areas. The witness hunts on a large family owned private parcel within 1/8th mile of thousands of square miles of Escanaba River State Forest. The family has owned the land for around 10 years and on several occasions has heard wood knocks, tree falls, howls and samurai chatter. The area is relatively remote considering its proximity to the towns Escanaba, Bark River and Cedar River. The calls heard are very similar to the calls that James "Bobo" Fay does on Finding Bigfoot except they were a lower tone and last a few seconds longer. The knocks heard before the howling were to the northwest of the hunting blind while the howling seem to come from a sand pit area to the west/southwest about 3/4 mile away. I visited the sand pit area with the witness and was shown around the property. According to the witness the knocking and vocalizations start every year around April and will continue through the year until just after the firearm deer season ends on November 30th. It is also worth noting that this are a has a high population of wolves, high enough that the DNR has signs posted on the trees warning hunters.
