OBSERVED: Me and and buddy were driving from my house to his house which was about 15 miles, it was around 2:30 in the morning and i was driving, he was half sleep in the other seat, about 5 miles from his house we were driving by the budweiser factory and i looked over on the right hand side of the road and saw something large and greyish standing the side of the road staring at our vehicle as we came closer, when we were about 20 to 30 feet from it, it turned around and started running through the field at a fast pace, it scared the crapt out of us and my buddy started freaking out more than me, i know its something ive never seen before and i know it wasent someone dressed up in some crazy gorilla looking costume, this thing was large and had to be at least 7ft tall, it was hairy with laid down looking greyish hair with long arms almost down to its knees, if i had to guess it was a male and he looked around 500 to 600 pounds at least, i couldnt see its face really good but i saw his glowing eyes as we came closer to it with the headlights shinning on it, i told a couple people about it and my buddy doesent speak about it no more but its haunting having to see something like that on the side of the road starring at you

ALSO NOTICED: nothing happened afterwards we drove home talking about what we saw, we were thinking about turning around to see if we can see it still but didnt

OTHER WITNESSES: 2, my buddy was half awake and when we saw it we both freaked out out

OTHER STORIES: not in the same area but i talked to other people who have seen the same thing in other areas

TIME AND CONDITIONS: it was aound 2:30 in the morning, it was warm outside, no moon light

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Lyle McKinley:

I spoke with this witness and the following details may be added:
The witness and his friend were driving east on Baseline Rd. (which parallels I-10) between Tonopah and Buckeye when the sighting took place. It occurred between 2 - 2:30 am on Baseline Rd., roughly 1/4 mile east of a Budweiser facility and AZ State Route 85. The witness, who was driving, noticed a figure standing still on the south side of Baseline Rd. illuminated only by the high beams of his pickup truck. There were no other vehicles in the area, and there was no moonlight that morning or ambient street lighting. The witness observed a tall figure covered in gray hair that he believes was a Sasquatch. As the truck approached the creature, its eyes reflected a "yellowish glimmer". When he got within 20 ft, the previously motionless figure quickly turned away from the vehicle and ran rapidly across an agricultural field. The witness estimated the height of the creature at "7 ft" because it was as tall as the roof of his lifted pickup truck. The witness was close enough to see muscle tone under the hair. He was impressed by the way the creature moved which seemed very "animal-like" and not like the movement of a person in a costume. He described the movement as "weird" as the creature took unusually "long strides" away from his vehicle. The entire sighting lasted about 6 seconds. There are numerous agricultural fields in this area, as well as the densely vegetated Gila River drainage directly south which may provide adequate food and cover during certain times of the year.
