Witness reports loud screaming near Strawberry (Show Printer-friendly Version) YEAR: 1977 SEASON: Fall MONTH: October STATE: California COUNTY: Tuolumne County LOCATION DETAILS: Take Highway 108 to Strawberry, California. The recreational residences are located around Pinecrest Lake. NEAREST TOWN: Strawberry NEAREST ROAD: Highway 108 OBSERVED: A witness reported that at around 1:00 a.m., approximately two minutes of extremely loud screaming was heard. The scream appeared to less than 50 meters from the recreational cabins. The scream was loud and high pitched. The cabin was located in the southeast portion of the lake, with no other cabins behind it. TIME AND CONDITIONS: late night. ENVIRONMENT: Pine forest at about 6,000 feet elevation.
