Road crossing sighting outside Halfmoon Bay
(Show Printer-friendly Version)

YEAR: 2005

SEASON: Spring

MONTH: March

DATE: 08

PROVINCE: British Columbia

COUNTRY: Canada

NEAREST TOWN: Halfmoon Bay

NEAREST ROAD: On Hwy 101

OBSERVED: I was travelling north on Hwy 101 from Halfmoon Bay B.C. at 6:50 pm.

I had just put on my high beams and saw a large figure come down a rocky cliff cross the road and enter the woods on the other side.

He did not falter in his gait. Nor did he look my way. His stride was was purposeful and he was HUGE. He was completely black and was a bit hunched forward. His arms were swinging at the same as his stride. It seemed to only take seconds to cross 101. I saw where he went into the trees.

I use "he" because I can not comprehend this thing being female. I did not see anything that would define a female figure.

I don't know how to describe the fear. I knew without a doubt what I was seeing. No one can ever erase this from my mind. I wish somehow I had never seen this.

There was a visible opening in the woods. Although I have travelled this road all my life it's not something I had noticed before.

I would think he was something like 9 feet tall or so.

I'm sorry this is disjointed but I think I'm in shock. All I can say is ... I know now.

I don't want anything to threaten him. But I can tell you EXACTLY where he was. It's raining here now so I don't know if there will be any trace although I want to go out tomorrow to see.

ALSO NOTICED: Felt like I was going to vomit.

OTHER WITNESSES: No

OTHER STORIES: Old Indian legends from the area.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: 6;50 p.m.
dusk to dark
clear not raining yet

ENVIRONMENT: Mountain terrain, old growth rainforest.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:

This witness is a very credible business owner in Halfmoon Bay. Her report helped us select this general area for the Aug 05 BC expedition.

Her report also corroborated several other reports from the area, including some along this same stretch of highway.

Everyone on the expedition got to hear this group of sasquatches at some point. Click here for one report from the expedition. It took us a few days to determine where they were coming from, generally, and thus where they were generally residing during the day.

The next BC expedition will happen in August 2006. It will be the second-pass expedition to this same area. We're expecting to get video footage, etc., in August.

If you would like to attend this expedition please read the general expedition requirements and the details about this trip. Click here for more about BC, including photos from this area.
