Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator R. Monteith:
The man, a hunter of over 25 years was going to his stand at the Bull Creek Wildlife Management area. While slowing driving down on the dirt road with windows down before daybreak he came upon a very unusual odor. He had never smelled the strong “musky-wet dog” odor before.
He drove about ¼ mile more, parked and walked to his stand.
He was in his stand about 10-15 minutes when he heard three screams that he is unfamiliar with. He has hunted all over Florida and knows fox, cat, bird and coyote sound – this was loud and very different. He said it was similar to what he has heard Bobo yell on Finding Bigfoot.
The three screams were consecutive and scared him. The sounds came from the area where he had smelled the odor. He states that although he felt it was about ¼ mile away, it was very loud and the woods were very quiet for a long time after that. He thought it strange that the birds were quiet that morning at sun up.
This is a good environment and we have several reports from this area, see Report #734 and Report #35769.
