Report # 79768(Class A) Submitted by witness Greg A. on Sunday, February 8, 2026.Dairy farmer (former Marine) sees line of bigfoots (7) on his farm 10 miles west of Maysville (Show Printer-friendly Version)
ENVIRONMENT: Pastures with small ridges, creeks and forest.
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Charlie Raymond:
A Northern Kentucky dairy farmer reported a daylight sighting of seven large, dark, upright figures resembling bigfoots on December 23rd circa 1978. The encounter took place around 4:30 PM on a farm less than one mile outside Germantown, Kentucky, near Highway 10 and Walton Pike. This area is near the Ohio River, 43 miles southeast of Cincinnati.
While preparing to milk cows, the witness observed the figures approximately 200–230 yards away, walking single file across a ridgeline. One individual at the front of the group stopped, turned, and appeared to look directly at the witness while the others continued past. After the last figure descended the hill, the lead individual rejoined the group, and all seven moved into a wooded creek area.
The witness briefly attempted to approach the area but stopped after sixteen Holstein heifers in a nearby pasture suddenly stampeded by him. Although armed, the witness chose not to pursue further and returned to the house.
He described the figures as uniformly dark black, similar in size, spaced apart, and moving in a coordinated manner. No vocalizations nor smell were reported.
Weather conditions were clear and sunny, with excellent visibility. The witness was alone at the time. He had no other sightings before or after the event. He has only heard other reports from the region. Due to social stigma, he did not openly discuss the sighting for many years.
He is now in his late 70's. He was a Marine who fought in Vietnam. He was very reluctant to be interviewed (filmed) due to being ridiculed, however I persuaded him for an audio interview off camera. He is very sincere and highly credible in my opinion.
He said:
“I ran down toward the stable along the fence line, thinking I might see where they went. The pasture they were heading into had trees and open ground. As I approached the creek gate, the sixteen Holstein heifers I had pastured back there suddenly stampeded uphill toward me. I jumped out of the way and let them pass. That’s when it hit me—there were seven of them. Even though I was carrying a .41 Magnum with five rounds, I realized I had no business going down there. I didn’t want to shoot them anyway. I turned around and went back to the house.”
Charlie Raymond: "Can you describe their appearance?"
Dairy Farmer: "They were dark—black, as far as I could tell. I didn’t notice any brown or reddish tint. All seven were roughly the same size, though the one in front appeared slightly smaller than the one behind it. None stood out as significantly shorter or taller. They were spaced apart, not walking shoulder-to-shoulder.
I don’t remember noticing exaggerated arm swinging. I was too focused on what I was seeing. As they started down the hill, the one in front stopped and turned its face toward me. It stood there watching while the others continued past it in single file. When the last one reached the point where only the tops of their heads and torsos were visible, that first figure turned, stepped back into line, and followed them down into the creek."
This sighting took place only about 8 miles as the crow flies (or Bigfoots walk) to a rash of sightings around 1980 in Maysville, KY. Some of which are on file with the local police department and made newspaper headlines... AKA "The Maysville Monster."
Here are those encounters from Maysville:
Oct 7, 1980 9:30PM Fulton family heard something on their porch. Long-haired, white "ape-like" creature. 7' tall Glowing pink-colored eyes Threw a pet rooster against the side of the house. Mr. Fulton fired his .22 pistol upon it twice as it made its escape. Another occasion it stole frozen meat from an outside freezer.
Multiple sightings by motorists:
Nov 5, 1980 5:00AM US 68 This incident is on file with the Maysville, Kentucky police department. An Alabama truck driver was hauling steel west of US Route 68 when he saw a figure on the opposite side of the highway. He slowed his vehicle and turned on his high beams thinking that it was a hitch hiker. When he approached the figure, he was shocked to see an "ape-like" creature with white hair, 6 to 7 feet tall.
Late 2002 and Early 2003 Night 4 witnesses KY 435 and Clyde T. Barbour Highway 6 to 7 feet tall. Black, long wet hair
Summer 2006 4:00PM US 62 2 witnesses Dark brown/black and bulky 7.5 to 8 foot tall
If you have additional information to add to a report posted by some other investigator, please use this section to add it, separated by a double line break as you see above. Do not worry about stepping on the toes of the original investigator but try to let that person know of your additional information. Appropriate additional information: Links to other reports in the vicinity, or reports mentioning similar behavior, etc.
Regarding this report from northern Kentucky:
The location and time-frame makes this report believeable. This part of the USA has had bigfoot (formerly called "wildman," locally) sightings stretching back well over 100 years. Sightings and howls still occur on both sides of the Ohio River around here, near the southernmost part of Ohio.
The time-frame: around the time of "Maysville Flap". Maysville is only 10 miles to the east from this sighting location. A "flap" is a cluster of sightings that occur in the same area during a particular time frame.
The fact that this dairy farmer sighting occurred in that time frame and locale adds further weight that it is reliable.
Bigfoots are almost never seen or heard in groups larger than three (3) at a time.
No credible witness that we know has ever claimed to see seven (7) bigfoots at once. Four (4) is the largest number of bigfoots *seen* in one place that I can recall off the top of my head.
Five (5) is the largest number of distinct individual footrpint sizes seen in one area that I have ever heard from a credible observer. I have actually heard of five sizes in more than one state.
One credible report in the past few years was sound only, where whooping sounds and whistling were volleying from 4-5 different directions, indicating 4-5 individuals spread out in the woods.
Seven (7) bigfoots travelling together and hunting cooperatively together, may make it easier for them to catch deer, but that strategy would only work sustainably in areas with lots of deer. This part of the USA -- far southern Ohio and northern Kentucky -- has lots of deer. There was a time in the past when the deer herds of this vicinty fed whole villages of indians, as their primary protein source.
