Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Charlie Raymond:

On November 28, 2021, I visited Robert at his parents home in Anderson County, Kentucky to conduct a follow-up investigation. Robert is a 50 year old male who has been an avid hunter within Kentucky for 25 years.

Robert’s parents live on a 300 acre wooded property which they have owned and resided on for several decades. The land surrounding the premises is thick with trees and brush and is close proximity to Taylorsville Lake. The area is mainly used for deer hunting by Robert, his father and a few of their friends.

After meeting Robert’s parents and obtaining their blessing to be on their land, we travelled to the location of the sighting in an ATV. The trail was surrounded by dense trees and the terrain was rough with many ridges and hollers. We passed a few vacant deer stands during the one mile journey.

Upon arrival, Robert parked the ATV at the top of an incline which was again, thick and rugged. Being late November, the ground was littered with many fallen leaves and dead foliage. We carefully navigated the rest of the way down to the edge of the creek, adding another 5 minutes to reach his deer stand which was on the edge of the creek.

The creek could be described as rocky and averaging 20 feet in width and of varying depths of water. On the opposite side of the creek the land inclined to a ridge, beyond which was the border to a neighboring property.

Robert climbed up his deer stand where he had been sitting quietly on the afternoon of the encounter and described what happened. I eventually went across the creek and stood where the creature was seen to estimate its size. Robert described what happened:

While waiting for deer to pass, Robert smelled a musky-sewage-like odor and heard leaves rustling coming from behind him. Upon twisting around in his stand to investigate, Robert states he saw a massive, hairy creature that he recognized to be the same type creature that he had seen a couple of years previously, walking in the same area. The creature was on the opposite side of the creek approximately 60 yards away, briskly walking parallel to the creek.

As the creature walked bipedally along the opposite side of the creek, it appeared to notice Robert at the same time. The creature turned its head briefly in Robert’s direction. It walked swiftly on two legs with its arms swinging down beside it in a counterbalance-like motion.

Robert stated, “He was in just as much of a hurry to get out of here as I was to get out of here!”

Robert had the creature in view for approximately 10 to 15 seconds and described its color as dark brown. The creature had long hair covering its entire body (rather than short fur) and was approximately 7.5 to 8 feet in height and twice as broad as Robert himself.

The time was approximately 5PM and still daylight (same time as my investigation) and his view was clear although somewhat obstructed by trees at times as the creature moved away very quickly. Due to the sun being low on the horizon behind the creature, Robert was unable to depict facial details. He recalled having a creepy feeling and wanting to get to safety as soon as possible throughout the encounter.

Robert states he has smelled the same odor on previous occasions and his dogs have reacted aggressively in a protective manner at those times, although never seeing the creature.

The deer stand in which he was seated at the time of the encounter is approximately 15 to 20 feet off the ground. Robert believes he saw the same creature two years prior, although very briefly, while seated in the same spot in November 2019 at the same time of day. Robert had first thought it to be a person in a ghillie suit.

Robert states he will no longer be using the deer stand and that he had not returned there since the encounter until today.

While I was examining the scene, Robert sat in the deer stand and pointed out to me the exact location of the creature. I stood in the same location and looked back towards Robert and found the visibility to be clear. A photograph was taken from Robert’s potion in the stand which unfortunately focuses mostly on the nearby branches, whereas the human eye is able to look past these and pinpoint a specific point of interest.

I located a very wide game trail which the creature must have been travelling. I could not find any obvious tracks due to the hard ground and heavy leaf litter, although I came upon a recently deceased Coyote with severe trauma to its rear leg. The leg was broken and twisted backwards. Due to the injury it could have been in a trap, however a few experienced trappers who viewed the photo said it appeared to be too high up the leg? There have been reports of Bigfoots supposedly breaking the rear legs of deer. No other signs of trauma were noticed to the poor coyote. The coyote was approximately 30 feet from where Robert had seen the creature. I found the presence of the Coyote to be an interesting coincidence, due to the approximate time of death and close proximity to the sighting, but there’s no way to prove the Bigfoot killed the coyote.

I found the witness to be highly credible as his story remained consistent after hearing it many times and he never offered any embellishments. The area is under further investigation.
