Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Paul J. Mateja:
I spoke with witness on 12/13/04. He added the following:
- He does not know exactly what he heard but it left a lasting impression on him and the others. The roar/scream lasted for about 10 seconds. It did not vary in pitch or intensity. It was very powerful and seemed to echo thru the trees - much like a shotgun blast would do. It occurred only once. The witness estimated that the sound emanated from 300-400 feet away (the submitted report stated a distance of 300 yards).
