COUNTY: Langlade County
LOCATION DETAILS: I was traveling west on Highway 47 in between County Highway W going west to highway 45. It happened on highway 47 approximately 125 yards east of trout road Bigfoot was going north
NEAREST TOWN: Antigo
NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 47 & almost to Trout Rd
OBSERVED: I was on my way to the vet and on highway 47 as I came over a hill and Crested the top of the hill I saw a Bigfoot standing on the shoulder it was the only thing in my entire viewing area besides woods on each side it was dark brown in appearance it had two legs and one arm as I saw a profile view it jumped off into the ditch line and went into the woods. I immediately thought of what I just saw & my conclusion was a bigfoot. It was vertical & on a slight angle as it was ready to go into the woods. It was heading g north. I could see the width of legs & its body shape only but I was at too far a distance to make out hair or face. There was nothing to abstruct my view because what was in back of him was shoulder and the road that continued West which also went up to a hill I only saw it because I crested over the hill it was plain as day what it was until he disappeared into the woods. I immediately called my husband and he got to the site I described approximately 45 minutes later. He reported seeing something had jumped and made a clearing into a small snow bank and also reported seeing some sort of tracks going along a deer trail which led to a deer carcass. The deer also had no front legs they were snapped off at the knees
ALSO NOTICED: Just that even though I only saw it for a moment I am 100% positive I did not see a man it was dark brown and it was too wide body wise to be a man it did have a human-like shape but I am positive it was not a man in insulated bib overalls I know what I saw.
OTHER WITNESSES: No witnesses just myself
OTHER STORIES: No
TIME AND CONDITIONS: 8:45 a.m. on a clear and sunny day in the wide open shoulder of a road
ENVIRONMENT: Each side of the road on highway 47 is completely wooded both sides very densely wooded with lots of animal tracks and a deer trail that was followed by the tracks my husband saw
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Jen Dopke & Larry Dopke:
Investigation took place in the summer time, not in the winter time. The distance from the car to the observed creature was more than a quarter mile. However, even though it was summer, recreation showed that the subject was very visible. The witness argued emphatically that the size, as well as the spread of the legs could not be matched by the individual attempting to recreate the subject.
The stand-in for the subject attempted to leap from the road's edge into the ditch, where the witness' husband said the next track from the road was found. The depth of the ditch was approximately 6 ft. and the distance was more than 25 feet. The recreator could not do it after trying 3 times without falling. He also could not make the distance. Her husband also stated that upon landing perfectly the subject took a short step behind a bush to disguise itself from the witness in her approaching car. It then paralleled a game trail by 15 ft. to the side. He tracked it for 3/4 of a mile, observing that stride lengths were between 4 and 5 ft. without dragging its feet. The snow depth was 18 inches with falling freshly the night before.
His return route brought him back alongside the deer game trail. Where he had found a deer that had both front legs busted and twisted, and had a rear quarter completely removed. He estimated it had been dead for a couple days.
He noted that the innards had been removed and there were signs of small animals having scarred the carcass.
From the distance that the witness observed the subject, a person could easily differentiate with the snow drop background, a human or a much larger sized subject. I believe that the witness could have seen the definition that she claimed she saw. She never claimed to see facial features or differing hair length.
The immediate area is heavily wooded. The extended area is a combination of woods, fence rows and farm fields. Farm residences are not close together and not densely populated. The subject crossed from a heavily wooded area into a low forest with spots of swamp close to the road. The woods were square miles in size, and undisturbed.
