Dates: June 25-28, 2009 (Thurs. - Sun.)
This will be the second BFRO expedition in Utah.
Last year's expedition in Utah had a significant amount of activity including
one very close approach to several participants at night, several definite
wood knocks, and red eyeshine -- an excellent accomplishment for a first
expedition in a state.
These incidents did not occur in the
zone originally selected, but rather in a zone some distance away from
original target zone, after some experienced investigators split off from
the main group to go listen for sounds in dfferent areas.
The events of the 2008 expedition have helped us refine the target area
for the 2009 expedition.
The 2009 Utah expedition is among
the top five mostly likely expeditions to yield observations and close
encounters at night, judging by the events of the 2008 trip.
The people who will have the best odds for observations/encounters will
be those who are willing to backpack deep into the some rugged terrain
and remain there for a few days.
The expedition is being organized by the
new Utah BFRO crew and Florida organizer Caroline Curtis. At this time
time she is accepting requests for participation by non-members.
You can contact her to inquire via email (Utah@BFRO.net) after you have
read the Frequently Asked Questions about
the expeditions.
