Report # 9352  (Class A)
Submitted by witness on Sunday, September 19, 2004.
Driver has daylight, road-cross encounter near Chiloquin

YEAR: 2004

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: September

DATE: 09/19

STATE: Oregon

COUNTY: Klamath County

LOCATION DETAILS: About 10 miles west of the junction between highway #138 and #97 (Diamond Lake Junction).

NEAREST TOWN: None closer than about 40+ miles (Chiloquin)

NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 138

OBSERVED: Date: 09/19/2004
Time: Approx. 6:00 PM
Conditions: Partly Cloudy w/ clear visibility
Location: About one mile or less from Cascade Summit Pass on Hwy 138.

I had spent the weekend visiting my kids in Ashland and was returning home to Redmond. I was traveling on a very straight section of 138 East of the pass when I saw a large very dark humanoid figure appear out of the woods and very quickly run (great strides) across the roadway and disappear into the woods to the south before I could get even to it. It was maybe 50 yards ahead at first sight. Though it was clear, it appeared to be shadowed from head to foot.

ALSO NOTICED: Goose bumps!

OTHER WITNESSES: I was alone.

OTHER STORIES: I just read of a sighting nearby recently where a hunter was screamed at.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: 6PM
See Above

ENVIRONMENT: See first paragraph

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Dr. Wolf H. Fahrenbach:

As described by the eye witness, the creature walked at an accelerated pace across the highway without actually running. It appeared black from head to toe.
