Report # 78967  (Class A)
Submitted by witness Susan King on Friday, August 1, 2025.
WEDNESDAY: Two witness daylight sighting of a sasquatch 3 crow miles NE of Highlands on Hwy 64

YEAR: 2025

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: July

DATE: 30

STATE: North Carolina

COUNTY: Macon County

LOCATION DETAILS: [Investigator (MM) Notes:
GPS coordinates of crossing point
35.088390, -83.172519 ]

NEAREST TOWN: Highlands

NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 64

OBSERVED: My fiance and I were driving from Saphire Valley NC to Highlands NC when the car in front of us stopped suddenly for what appeared to be a large black creature. It appeard very suddenly and jumped over the guard rail with ease. It had long arms and dark hair, very tall. We couldn't make out a face.

It obviously startled the car in front of us which slammed on its brakes. This car was a blue Hyundai Genesis. We were gobsmacked. It happened between 4 and 5 PM on Wednesday July 30, 2025.

Although I am a skeptic, I've truly never witnessed anything like this before. Very strange.

OTHER WITNESSES: My fiance

TIME AND CONDITIONS: Between 4 and 5pm

ENVIRONMENT: Highway surrounded by thick forest and mountains.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:

I spoke with the witnesses by phone. Both are very credible. This incident happened in daylight. The creature they saw could only have been a sasquatch.

Some people might be surprised that a sasquatch would come so close to a human structures, but they are just a cluster of structures in an ocean of mountain forests. Other animals like deer and bears will frequently be seen close to structures like this in this type of environment, so it should be no surprise that sasquatches will come this close as well.

The part of the USA where North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia all intersect is a sweet spot for sasquatch sightings.

In road-crossing cases like this, some people will always ask, "Did they go back to look for footprints??!!" I will preemptively address that question the way I always do when it pops up:

If a report like this does not mention the witnesses returning to look for footprints then assume it did not happen. You don't have to ask.

Other questions from the peanut gallery will slide down the IQ scale even further when some will inevitably ask, "How come they didn't take a picture of it ??!! Didn't they have a phone with them??" The question itself shows an inability to comprehend an uncomplicated situation that happened by surprise and only lasted a few seconds. You wouldn't expect someone to obtain a photo or video in this circumstance without a dashcam running.
