YEAR: 2020
SEASON: Summer
MONTH: July
DATE: 21
STATE: Illinois
COUNTY: Jefferson County
LOCATION DETAILS: Interstate Sighting.
NEAREST TOWN: Mt Vernon
NEAREST ROAD: Interstate 64
OBSERVED: My wife, daughter and I were traveling on interstate 64 about 40 miles southeast of St. Louis. It was late at night when I noticed a big figure walking along the tree line. As I was passing it turned and looked at me with big glowing eyes. It turned into the woods to maybe one or to steps and looked back. There's no doubt of what I saw.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was night had to be around 5am or 6amp. The particular area was dark. The weather was clear
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Chris Callahan:
I spoke to the witness over the phone. The following can be added to the report:
The bipedal figure was seen walking along the tree line at a distance of 20-30 yards.
It was big (stocky like a football player) and at least 7 feet tall, but could of pushed 8 plus feet. The figure was light tan in color, but not uniform (different color hues were visible).
The figure walked like a stooped person
The witness made direct eye contact with it. The eyes were red, but shined like other animals witnessed at night (the eyes did not project light).
The bipedal figure took two steps towards the tree line, turned back and looked at the witness again, then proceeded into the timber.
The witness has since purchased a dash camera because this is a frequently traveled route. He will update me with a more exact location of this sighting the next time they pass through.
