Report # 40580  (Class B)
Submitted by witness on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
Possible daylight sighting by a homeowner from her window near Marengo

YEAR: 2013

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: March

DATE: 20

STATE: Ohio

COUNTY: Morrow County

LOCATION DETAILS: Close to houses
Directions: St Rt 229 coming from Marengo turn left onto County Rd 206. Where I seen it at was quite a ways away. Probably 2-3 acres away.

NEAREST TOWN: Marengo

NEAREST ROAD: County Rd 206

OBSERVED: I was in my kitchen looking out the small window above our sink. I was looking towards our woods to see what our 2 dogs were barking about. We usually always have deer around so I figured it was just some deer running thru the corn field to the woods behind us as, that was the direction the dogs were barking.
As I'm looking I see movement along the first set of trees it's something big because I can only see the top half of it and it's moving to the south along the tree line. It was dark in color and had to be tall because the field kinda has a hill in front of the trees and I can see it walking along the trees. I didn't think anything of it but then I text my niece, she's big time into Bigfoot and after I heard back from her she started asking questions like is it hairy, could you see the muscles or buttocks? I laughed and said I think it was just a bear. Then she asked if it had arms swinging? I said yeah I could see that much of it. So she says its a Bigfoot, I still don't know for sure.

ALSO NOTICED: Nothing has been noticed

OTHER WITNESSES: Just me and the dogs.

OTHER STORIES: No.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was sunny and in the 40's and it was in the morning around 9-10 am.

ENVIRONMENT: Just off County Rd. 183 about 3/4 to 1 mile houses in the area. It was walking along the wooded area behind my sister in laws house going south. I know the woods in this area as we go back every fall and sometimes in the spring to cut wood for my in-laws. It's got some swampy area but mostly wooded with a few clearings as there is a natural gas line that runs thru it.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Mark Maisel:

I spoke to the witness by phone and found her credible.

The following can be added to this report.

She was looking to the east when she saw the animal going to the south, which was from her left. The animal was approximately 500 feet away from the back of the house. There is a knoll there and she saw it as it walked behind it. She only saw the upper half of it.

These are the views of which the witness watched the animal.

The animal was dark in color because she could not discern the color at that distance. She states that the head was large, it was upright, and she did not see a snout. She noted that the arms were big, saying that they were much larger "than a paper towel and a half roll". She does not know how tall the knoll is but is afraid to look in that area at this time. She estimates the height at eight to nine feet tall. The sway to the arms was what caught her attention the most.

The dogs were barking and the witness states that it did not pay attention to them and kept upon its business.

There is a power and gas line right-of-way that goes through the property, and much further to the south east.

The location does not have many acres of woods, there are a lot of farms in the area.
