Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Scott Taylor:
I talked with this witness over the phone. I am familiar with his area. There have been quite a few other reports from not too far away. Report #24772, Report #25976 I had a class A sighting only three miles away from this location while bow hunting in December 2009. The Cowlitz River valley is one of the more active regions in Washington State.
It is not possible to say for sure that this witness heard noises made by sasquatches, but it is certainly possible and quite likely. Wood knocking is well known, and the time of day is when sasquatches are more active. Many other people have also reported the same deep, loud, reverberating growls from what has been attributed to sasquatches. The observation of the barn cats being so agitated and frightened is a further indication that something was nearby that was out of the ordinary. The wildlife was silent, which is often reported when sasquatches are in the area. He said that quite frequently, the dogs down the road will get all excited around 2:00-2:30AM. This witness reports the feeling of being watched. He is quite upset by the situation, often covering his windows.
There is a very large tract of woods to the east of this property. About 2 miles due east is a gravel pit in the middle of this wooded area. To the west, are small ranches and wooded patches. To the south is pretty much unbroken forest all the way to Mt. St. Helens.
