Teacher sees a bigfoot cross the highway in front of her near Aberdeen

YEAR: 1995

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: January

DATE: 15

STATE: Washington

COUNTY: Grays Harbor County

LOCATION DETAILS: (Edited) I could show you exactly where this figure came from and dissapeared into the woods. Please feel free contact me if you need to.

NEAREST TOWN: Aberdeen

NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 105

OBSERVED: I was driving home in January of 1995 from Aberdeen, Washington to Westport, at around 9:00pm on State Hwy 105. It was dark, foggy and kind of misty. I was approx. one mile from the Stafford Creek Correctional Facility, on a long straight uphill stretch of the road. The lights of the prison turnoff were backlighting the crest of the hill. There were no other cars of the road. The road is a two lane road, with wide shoulders that could easily be additional lane width, so in essence the road is 4 lanes wide. I could easily see the road due to the backlighting and my headlights and foglights on my car.
When I was about half way the hill, a figure stepped onto to the road from the bank, moving from the south to the north. The north would lead to the harbor. This figure was quite large, larger than any man that I have ever seen. He had a large rounded head shape, long arms that reached well below his waist line. His strides were huge. He swung his arms opposite of the feet he was moving. He cleared the roadway in 2 strides, and moved into the brush on the bayside of the road. I could not make out any physical details or features of this figure other than the ones I have described. I could and still do each time I go past this location, look to see if the animal path that he was following is still there, and it is.
For a long time I kept quite about this. I am not who likes to be in the public eye. But now that I have shared this with some friends, they encouraged me to report this sighting.

ALSO NOTICED: Just the huge strides of the figure

OTHER WITNESSES: Just myself

OTHER STORIES: no

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was night. Misty. Foggy, good lighting

ENVIRONMENT: This is a heavily timbered area, next the water in the Grays Harbor region. The figure would have been moving down to the water, accross an old railroad line to the shoreline.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Scott Taylor:

I met the witness at a nearby service station. We talked about the sighting as we drove to the scene.

What the witness reported seeing was a large, bipedal creature. It ran down the embankment on the south side of Hwy 105. It then crossed the road in three strides, and went into the brush on the north side of the road. The creature was going towards the bay.

The south side embankment was about 30 feet high. While there are no trees on the embankment, it is covered in brush about six feet tall. Since the incident occurred during the winter, there would not have been any leaves. The tangle of brush would have been quite difficult for a human to get through.

At the top of the embankment, there are power lines, and then the large trees start. At the time, this south side area was covered in mature timber. Since that time, there was a severe wind storm in November 2007, and most of the trees were flattened. They have since been salvage-logged.

The north side of the road is very brushy, with hardwood trees, and a few large fir trees. There is a railroad grade about 50 feet back, and parallel to the highway. The bay is only about 200 feet further.

We have had other reports from he region where large, bipedal creatures are seen going to and from the bay. Since it was completely dark, the lights from the prison complex (about a half mile to the west) would have made it possible to see a person, deer, elk, or large creature cross the road, silhouetted.

This is the approximate position where the witness saw the creature cross the road. It crossed near where the vehicle is parked.

This is where the creature came down the bank.

This is where the creature left the road heading towards the bay.

Her description of the way the creature crossed the highway in three strides, the speed, and the thickness of the brush would make it impossible for this to be a human. The only large, bipedal creature that could cross the road in such a way would be a sasquatch.
