Hikers spot a 9-10 foot tall black creature, and find a possible resting place of the creature

YEAR: 1986

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: June

DATE: 15

PROVINCE: British Columbia

COUNTRY: Canada

LOCATION DETAILS: Sunshine coast 30 miles northwest of Vancouver. The town's name is Gibsons Landing.

OBSERVED: My friend and I had been hiking up the Mountian trail on cemetery road, the time was about 11;00 am. There were low clouds that day. We hiked up and down this trail many times. On the way up that day we observed a black colored animal. As we walked up to the spot where we saw the back of the animal touch a branch of a tree we discovered it must of been nine to ten feet tall. We didn't get a good look at this creature but could smell a wet dog like smell. We saw a trai, that the animal had made, so we walked through it and came out under some cedar trees we noted huckle berry leaves on the ground made in to a bed. Whatever made this, we knew it was not from any man or bear.
