Possible tracks found near Vernon

YEAR: 2005

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: January

PROVINCE: British Columbia

COUNTRY: Canada

NEAREST TOWN: Vernon

NEAREST ROAD: Learmouth

OBSERVED: I have not actually seen a sasquatch, but I have definetly seen footprints....without a doubt. I live in Vernon, BC, and I own/run a dog hiking business here. I hike in the surrounding forest areas 5 days a week. I saw multiple tracks in a remote area 2 winters ago. I was with a close friend on one of the occasions and she witnessed the footprints as well. I have just stummbled upon this web-site looking for bear sightings in the area, and I am not at all shocked to hear that a hunter watched a sasquatch in our area. I believe that they exist and I believe that I have been watched while hiking on numerous occasions. I doubt that I will ever encounter one given the fact that I have 10 or more dogs with me. But I know that I have come across things out there that can not be explained, unless there is a presence of a sasquatch. Thank-you for your time. I think that the research that you are doing is very valuable.

ALSO NOTICED: It seemed like it knew that it had left footprints on our trail.. so it tryed to cover them up. It seemed so bizare.

OTHER WITNESSES: One of my girlfriends was with me.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: One of the times it was around 10am and it was a foggy day.

ENVIRONMENT: Forest...mountain base, creek runs nearby. Lots of wildlife in area.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Blaine McMillan :

I have spoken to the witness by telephone and we discussed the incident at length.

In the course of her business she takes a large number of dogs for long walks through the forests near the city of Vernon, B.C. On one of these walks she and her friend came across a pair of large footprints that crossed the trail at a 90* angle. Although the track itself was not overly large she felt that it was odd to find a bare human shaped print in the snow some 5 kilometers from the nearest road. The path that it crossed was close to six feet wide and the witness described finding one track close to a third of the way across the path and only a partitial or half print on the edge of the trail where the animal had stepped back into the forest.

The witness stated that she and her friend had both looked off the trail to see if they could discover where "it" had come from and where "it" was going to. Unfortunately, since there wasn't as much snow under the canopy no additional tracks were sighted. The witness also stated that she has heard a series of odd whistling sounds and vocalizations in the area.
