OBSERVED: Regarding the "Manitoba footage" (Norway House,MB,CA 04/05):
This database contains statements directly from eyewitnesses. In the case of the Manitoba footage, Bobby Clarke was the eyewitness. Although he has done a few interviews, Bobby has never written up his own story and submitted it to anyone. That's why a report mentioning the Manitoba footage has not appeared in this database heretofore.
Many people still ask about the footage though, and wonder why the BFRO site does not say anything about it in the Manitoba section.
We only want to hear the story from the people involved - the local witnesses. They need to tell their stories, in their own words, in writing, and submit those to us through this web site.
Any sightings, track finds, etc., on the Norway House Reserve should be sent in. We won't talk about the activity much otherwise. That's our policy.
The fact that Bobby Clarke has not yet written up his story is understandable, for a few reasons:
Bobby wasn't trying to get footage of a sasquatch. He filmed something odd near his work site and showed it to his family. Others in the community came by to see it and started telling others. That's how it came to the attention of the media. Bobby didn't try to promote it himself.
Bobby did not like the furor of attention. He did not ask for it. It frustrated him.
He did not earn six figures from the footage. It was licensed to ACA for two airings, for only four figures.
Bobby did not like the stress. He didn't appreciate the attitudes that he was dropping the ball somehow. He greatly disliked like being accused of hoaxing or chicanery by outsiders who never met him.
All told, Bobby would naturally be unenthusiastic about writing a detailed statement (at least at this point in his life), which might only serve to stoke up more frustration for him.
We'll be more than happy to post his story as soon as he is willing to tell his story.
ALSO NOTICED: There was a videotape of the incident. It shows the figure, but not clearly.
OTHER WITNESSES: No
OTHER STORIES: Several incidents have happened subsequently. They have been reported in the news in Canada, but not submitted to us by the local witnesses themselves, not yet.
If you are a local eyewitness, please report anything notable.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: Early morning
ENVIRONMENT: Forest, very unpopulated. Big trees. Not tundra.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:
I viewed the footage in Los Angeles last Spring. The portions aired on A Current Affair were only short clips from the entire footage. Other parts of the footage do not show the image more clearly than what was shown, but they do show more movements.
The footage cannot be analyzed or enhancement much beyond the original, because the figure is too blurry and too small.
It is probably legitimate footage of an actual sasquatch. For that reason the footage is important footage, even though it is difficult to watch.
There are at least eight other pieces of relatively unknown video footage that probably show a real sasquatch, more clearly than the Manitoba footage. The media hype around the Manitoba footage built up expectations that it was better than some of the other blurry but legit clips (CA-Marble Mts., NY-Lembo Lake, Bob Dagle's surveillance clips, Keating's white creature, etc.). Clarke's footage isn't any better than those, but it is still legit footage, more likely than not.
Bobby Clarke did not perpetrate a hoax. He was in the right place at the right time, and didn't have much else to do, and had a camcorder with him. Hoaxes unfold differently, and hoax footage is usually different than this type of footage.
The figure in the Clarke footage is probably not a very large human dressed in a dark furry costume (Bobby could see fur) in a desolate, forested area, more than 50 miles from the nearest development, with no vehicle, trodding along the muddy bank of an icey river, just after sunrise.
The single strongest element pointing to an actual sasquatch, can only be fully appreciated at the location itself.
The location is so remote and undeveloped, there is no way for a human to arrive in the area, or leave the area, without being seen and heard.
Bobby filmed something that lives out there.
